Having a bit of a conversation with someone about the Resnais film who wanted to know why he equates unhappiness with loneliness….my answer? Emotional twins. Any thoughts?

In my view, lonely people cannot be happy people. How they got to be lonely might say much about why they are unhappy.
I agree, and think you can experience both emotions at times, but as I have said many times, a pity party is ok, but just don’t stay long at the party. As short as possible.
