Still a dreamer…Old Memories and New Hopes

Sorry I haven’t been on, but difficult to type with broken wrist still healing.
So excuse typos. I was at the Met Museum multitasking . Walking down the stairs and talking and skipped a few. Landed on my arm on the concrete.
The next day a neon green cast. If you have a broken wrist and have a choice of colors, you might as well go for neon chartreuse .
I was leaving for Virginia for almost three months and also had doctor there to take off cast in 6 weeks. Off and healing.
The point to this post. I was told same place someone fell and broke two wrists.
So as I was told by family and friends. Could have been so much worse. Hips, elbows, feet, legs, jaw, nose, mouth . Every part could have been affected.
So no whining , it’s temporary and will heal.
I am so grateful it was just my wrist. My dominant wrist though.
“I cried because I had no shoes until I saw a man with no feet.” Helen Keller
Not complaining and grateful it was just a wrist 🌺

  3. Recuperating well? Glad to read. Hip would definitely be more problematic

  4. Bless your heart!! I’m so sorry and I understand exactly how you feel! When I broke my left wrist.. well shattered it and ended up with surgery and 8 screws and plate in my wrist. It was bad, but could have been so much worse. I am glad you are healing and will be ok. I have missed you! πŸ™‚ ❀

    • OMG Courtney, You really did a job on yours. I broke my radius in three places, but thankfully didn’t need surgery. It will take a few more months to have full motion and swelling down. Hey, I stood on my head today for the first time in three months.
Hope your summer is going well and thank you for missing me. Wish we could someday share a glass of wine and some great conversation….

      • I hope we can do that someday… I would love it. My plans to head that way this summer did not come to fruition but I will soon I hope! I have a friend who moved to a town near Philly and that is just a short train ride from NYC. I know because I have done it! If I am ever anywhere near you, I promise to give you a shout!
My wrist was really bad but I had an awesome surgeon and I have complete mobility and use of my wrist. He did a phenomenal job! My scar is about 3″ long but you can barely see it. I have flown several times since then also and never had a problem with TSA.. lol! Looking forward to hearing all about your adventures this summer! πŸ˜‰

      • So happy to hear you’re all healed with complete mobility. So great.
I had some fun interviews with videos etc that were interesting. In August I’m going to be interviewed for a Today type show in Tokyo. The journalist wants to follow me and see what I do in a day. I’ve been in Richmond, Virginia since May 23. Came here in cast (neon green) and removed June 13.. Still a bit stiff but actually typing for the first time. Have been texting but not on computer. feels good. Going home August 7 and having fun family love time. Very close to my sister-in law. My brother and nieces and grandnieces too along with Virginia friends. My family and friends in the city think this trip was too long. I love being out of the city and living a suburban life for a change. Oh such a short ride to the city and I look forward to that time together very much. Have a wonderful rest of the summer. I can’t find my emoji’s but sending you xoxox
